FAQ
About Air Lovers
What is Air Lovers?
Air Lovers brings pilots together who want to get more out of their pilot’s license and truly live their passion for flying. We organize extraordinary flying tours, skill training, Fly Ins & Fly Outs, and online briefings. Our focus is on flying yourself, gaining new experiences, and sharing unforgettable adventures.
Who are Air Lovers experiences designed for?
For pilots who love discovering new places, developing their flying skills, and enjoying extraordinary flying experiences. Whether you are just starting your flying journey or already have many hours in your logbook, Air Lovers offers different ways to pursue your passion for flying.
Do I need a pilot’s license to participate?
That depends on the experience. Our Pilot Adventure Tours and Skill Trainings generally require an appropriate pilot qualification. For selected experiences, aviation enthusiasts without a pilot’s license may also participate, for example as passengers. You can find the specific requirements in the description of each experience.
Do I need to have extensive flying experience?
No. Requirements vary depending on the tour or training. Some experiences are suitable for pilots with relatively limited flying experience, while others require specific knowledge or experience. You can find the applicable participation requirements in the description of each offering.
What language are Air Lovers events held in?
Our events and briefings are primarily held in English. Especially on international flying tours and at events, we want to bring pilots from different countries together and encourage international exchange. Depending on the event, individual program elements may also be offered in German. You can find the language of each event in its description.
How can I participate in an Air Lovers experience?
You can browse and book our current offerings directly through the Air Lovers Store. Simply choose the experience that interests you and follow the booking steps. After booking, you will receive all further information, along with access to relevant materials and briefings.
Pilot Adventure Tours
What are Pilot Adventure Tours?
Our Pilot Adventure Tours are multi-day and multi-week flying tours to extraordinary destinations around the world. You discover new regions from the cockpit, fly the aircraft yourself, and gain experience that goes far beyond everyday flying. Together with other pilots, you explore unique routes, spectacular landscapes, and unforgettable adventures.
Will I fly the aircraft myself on the tours?
Yes! You are not just a passenger – you fly the aircraft yourself as Pilot in Command (PIC). Depending on the tour, we use privately owned aircraft, chartered aircraft, or aircraft available locally.
Do I need my own aircraft?
No. You can participate with your own aircraft or, depending on the tour, charter an aircraft or team up with another pilot. You can find out which options are available in the description of each tour.
Can I share an aircraft with another pilot?
Yes, provided the arrangements for the specific tour allow it. For example, you can team up with another participant and share an aircraft. Please note that you may need an appropriate checkout or familiarization flight before you are permitted to fly the aircraft yourself.
What flying qualifications do I need?
Requirements depend on the specific tour and the planned flying areas. These may include a valid pilot’s license, an appropriate medical certificate, sufficient flight experience, or specific ratings and endorsements. You can find all applicable requirements in the description of each tour.
Are the routes and destinations fixed in advance?
We carefully plan the routes and destinations and prepare each tour accordingly. However, weather conditions, airspace restrictions, or other circumstances may make it necessary to adjust the plan. As Pilot in Command, you remain fully responsible for your own flight decisions at all times. Sharing perspectives and experience within the group allows you to consider different viewpoints and make well-informed decisions.
Can I join the tour at a different airport?
That depends on the route and the logistical arrangements. If you would like to start at a different airport or join the group along the way, feel free to contact us before booking.
How do the briefings and preparations work?
Before each tour, we prepare you through dedicated online briefings covering the flying areas, route-specific considerations, and logistical arrangements. You will receive relevant information and materials to help you get ready for your adventure. The scope and format of the briefings depend on the individual tour.
What happens if weather conditions prevent a flying tour from taking place?
Safety always comes first. If weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances make it impossible to operate a tour, we will explore options for adjusting or rescheduling it. The applicable arrangements in the event of a cancellation or rebooking are governed by the participation and cancellation policies for the respective tour.
Can I bring friends or family members?
That depends on the specific tour and the available seats. If participation as a passenger is possible, you will find the relevant information in the tour description. Feel free to contact us in advance if you have any questions.

Fly Ins & Fly Outs
What is the difference between Fly Ins and Fly Outs?
A Fly In is an in-person gathering of pilots at a selected airport. The focus is on meeting new people, connecting, and sharing experiences around aviation.
Fly Outs, on the other hand, are spontaneous group flights to interesting airports in Germany and across Europe. We meet up, fly out together, discover new destinations, and enjoy spending time together.
Do I need to register in advance?
Advance registration is required for our Fly Ins so that we can plan accordingly. Fly Outs are generally announced at short notice. The event announcement will let you know whether registration is required and how to sign up.
Can I participate without my own aircraft?
Yes! You can arrive in your own aircraft, share a cockpit with another pilot, or arrange another way to join a flight, if available. The options depend on the individual event.
Are Fly Ins & Fly Outs suitable for pilots who don't know anyone at Air Lovers yet?
Absolutely! That’s exactly what these gatherings are for. You’ll meet other pilots, exchange experiences, and make new connections. You don’t need to know anyone beforehand to join us.
How can I find out about upcoming Fly Ins & Fly Outs?
You can find all scheduled events in our upcoming events calendar. We also announce spontaneous Fly Outs through our communication channels. So be sure to check in regularly.
